Today we’re proud to publish Frontier’s first ever Social Impact Report, which celebrates our work as an ethically minded business that makes a difference.
Our new report shows the ways in which we’re embracing our social responsibility: through our pro bono work, our environmental commitments, our charitable giving and our efforts to create a fairer and more inclusive workplace.
A business with a difference
Frontier was founded as a business with a difference. Being employee-owned means our values reflect those of the people who work here – people who care about doing good, not just doing well.
Our social impact strategy captures this spirit. It sets out how we use our expertise for a greater good, by reducing our environmental footprint, promoting equity and inclusion, and acting with integrity. Our inaugural report demonstrates what that looks like in practice, showing that we don’t just use the right words, but uphold them with our actions.
Highlights from the report
The report celebrates the work Frontier does to create positive change. Highlights include:
- The launch of our bold new Equity, Diversity & Inclusion strategy, and how we’re delivering on it
- Our status as a UN Global Compact signatory
- Maintenance of our carbon-zero status, with 654 tCO₂e offset through projects in Africa
- The success of our access programmes, run in partnership with The Black Economists Network and the Social Mobility Foundation
- €24,000 raised for humanitarian efforts in Ukraine, through a firmwide donation-matching scheme
- A wide range of pro bono projects, from supporting LGBTQ+ youth to measuring impact for the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra
Embedding equity and inclusion
As this report shows, equity, diversity and inclusion are central to our culture. In 2024, we launched a new ED&I strategy with ambitious goals. This includes new development programmes for our female leaders, enhanced parental support and dedicated efforts to build a more inclusive culture.
We’re also working with external partners to widen access to economics, from hosting insight days to offering work experience opportunities to students from underrepresented backgrounds.
Our Social Impact Report outlines all of this, as well as the vital role our employee networks play in supporting our people and shaping our culture from within.
Looking ahead
As our Ambassador and former Chair, Gus O’Donnell, says in the report’s opening letter, we’re proud of the progress we’ve made – but we know there’s more to do.
This report shows that our commitment to being a responsible business is ongoing. We’ll continue to use our skills, time and resources to make a positive difference to the people we work with and the world around us.
